I'm Christian Blank, based in Northern Germany. My work sits at the intersection of software engineering, machine learning research, and building companies.

Research

I studied computer engineering and computer science, and started my PhD at the University of Bremen in 2019. My research interests have shifted over the years — from gesture recognition and augmented reality toward testing methodologies for machine learning systems and AI agent safety. The central question I keep returning to: how do you verify the behavior of a system you cannot fully specify?

Companies

I'm the founder and managing director of Lemonade Research GmbH, a software and AI consultancy working with German Mittelstand companies. I also run Cubicl GmbH, which handles real estate investment and management.

Current projects include Wemate (a community platform),Grundblick (real estate analytics), and Lumi (an AI assistant infrastructure project).

I write about things I'm actively thinking through — primarily AI safety, testing of learning systems, and the practical challenges of deploying intelligent software. These are working notes as much as polished arguments. If something is wrong, I want to know.
